Hi,

i'm currently no active 3DGS user and just visited the forum again to check the status of A6. And I must say that I'm absolutely stunned by these new shader effects. Seems like A6 is finally head-to-head with current game engines...

Now my question: How strong is the impact of shader effects to the game framerate? I know that shader effects are mostly rendered on the graphic card and I guess that's why the graphic card has to support them, but I think there has to be a drop of fps when using these effects. Have you beta testers already made some experience with how much an effect costs the framecounter?

Thank you,

xck3001

im running thousands of shaded polygons on my radeon 9700.. with very good framerate.. its mostly dependent on your video card

Sphere Engine--the premier A6 graphics plugin.

It's allmost completely dependant on your GPU, the majority of work(~99%) is done on it...

it also depends on the complexity of the shader!

Hi,
Of course this is all right, but: What about results? Has any of you almost mesured the loss of fps when using pixel-shaders? Actually, I only repeat the question but I'm quite interested, too, so why not

Formerly known as The Matrix - ICQ 170408644 I've been here for much longer than most people think. So where's my "Expert" status?
