Hello all, I'd like to present.. Atoms! To View the Image better, Right click on it and click on View ImageI made this game for the Spring Contest, but I'm really happy with the way it turned out.. Once you spend the 4-5 minutes to get the hang of it, it's really a blast to go on multiplayer wars with your buddies.. Instructions: ------------- The Object of this game is to wipe out the other players' ATOMS by causing a chain reaction. To do this you overload a square. Corner squares overload with 2 ATOMS Side Squares With 3 ATOMS Middle Squares with 4 ATOMS When a player's ATOMS are wiped out that player is out of the game. Get it from here: Atoms v1.0 (2.2mb) I'm only asking that you read the instructions carefully and go through a whole match with the AI before you close it. But the real fun is playing with 3 other human opponents multiplayer, so if you enjoyed the game, sign up here to get on the Atoms Tournament! A server will be online all week and we will be condacting games from Monday to Saturday, and the four finalists will compete for the first 3 prizes on Sunday 26th April. The Prizes will be: 1st Prize: Choose Between: 30 Euro OR 1 copy of Intense X Copper, OR 1 upgrade to Intense X Silver and 20 Euro. 2nd Prize: Choose Between: 10 Euro OR 1 upgrade to Intense X Silver. 3rd Prize: Choose Between: 5 Euro OR 1 Copper Model Pack. For more info on the contest, click here. Also, if you enjoyed Atoms, vote for me on the Conitec Spring Contest here. Thank you!! Cheers, Aris

There will be easier AI's on the update.
But I'll hardly ever use them, It's more prizing to win the hardest.

Really nice gaem idea! ^^ First time I've been pwend after my 2nd cklick. Oo (still keep being owned) But it is cool. For me it is a bit hard to differ between green and yellow, green could be a bit darker.

Hi all! Thank you for all your replies and suggestions! New version is out! Atoms v1.2! (3.3mb) Some of the new stuff in it: - 3 AI Difficulty Levels (Easy, Medium, Hard)
- 5 Field size variations (4x4,6x6,8x8,10x10,12x12)
- 3 Window Resolutions (640x480, 800x600, 1024x768)
- Atoms Loader (Easier multiplayer setup)
- Atoms Loader Source Code (If you have VC++ 2005 Express (it's free) you can modify Atoms Loader to your game. No more ugly .bat files in order to run the Server, or define a player name and Ip address for the client. If you don't have VC++ 2005 Express, ask me to make a Loader.exe for your own game.)
- Hamachi included (Are you behind a router? Fed up with having to deal with port forwarding and all that yap? Then give Hamachi a try. It's free and it's awesome!)
- Observers supported (Join in a server and watch others play)
- Multiplayer messages (Notifications if someone entered or left the server)
- More distinct colors (Yellow atoms don't look like green anymore. And the font colors are clearer)
- Multiple shots bug fixed (In laggy multiplayer games, someone could fire more than 1 atoms in a single turn)
About the Atoms Loader. If you're making a multiplayer game and you're not a fortunate A7 Pro owner, you'll have to deal with .bat files. I deeply disliked them, which is why I made this program: I realize now that this program is generic enough to be used by anyone working on a gamestudio multiplayer game, so if you want one, I can easily make a version for you. Source code is also included in the zip file. i've played once. I was dominated by the computer player, and with a click all the playground changes to my color. i win but don't know how. It's all in the chain reactions. Once you get better you'll learn to control them better. I DON'T KNOW! THEY'RE ALL REALLY THE SAME Also, Atoms Tournament is starting today. Join in, you know you want to.. Cheers, Aris

I guess I could have a ping server button, but being able, or not, to ping someone does not necessarily tells you if you can join the server or not.. It could be that the server (being behind the router) firewalls the ping command but the router could still be set correctly to forward the DirectPlay packet from a specific port. Or, on the other hand, you could get a successful reply from your ping, but you'd just be pinging the router, but the client could still not find it's way from the server's router through the computer that actually hosts the game. I think just trying to join the server is the best way to go.. Btw, I've failed and failed again trying to get two machines to play any gamestudio multiplayer game through the internet (going through routers and all that.. And yes, I've done all port forwarding correctly..(i think ), which is why there's the 'Install Hamachi' button there. Hamachi makes router problems go away Cheers, Aris

This is weird... Even though this thread belongs in the Projects forum, and since I Just posted on it, it should be right on the top and in the 1st page, it's nowhere to be found! Check it out.. Project's Forum. Atoms thread isn't there.. But it still exists since you're reading it! Have you seen anything like this before?
