Unnamed Shooter - Created with Intense X and Gamestudio

Hey Everyone

These are some shots from a shooter I have been working on. The game was created with GS A7 (Comm) and Modified Intense X Cooper (PS: a really good 3rd Party GS Tool).

The models of the FBI agents need to be changed to the actual game models. I am animating my new models now. The plan is to create an 80s Zombie Glam-Rocker Game. Unfortunately I can't convince my music producer to get of the trance-breatbeat habit.

Still you got to let good ideas die sometimes.

Cheers

Static.

Hi static, Maybe you should change the machine pistol model. It doesn't seem to fit the one handed system your using for it. Adding another hand might help!

Hey Guys - Thanks for the feedback. I am not sure I can reply to everyone regarding comments and suggestions, but I will give it a go.

1. Yeah the billboards are temporary. I have been working on fake billboards. Actually one of them was fake, but I threw in some real ones that I was planning to copy when making fake ones.

2. The MP5K is used one handed in this game. I know that looks a little odd, but it helps when animating all the characters. I actually added a two handed AK47. It was a COW to animate. I am planning to remove it, because I doubt you would find one in an urban setting anyway. The military don't even use them in western countries.

3. I agree that the place is not cluttered enough. I have been adding blocks of wood (as there is construction occuring in the subway) as well as paper and more graphs. It would definately look better with more junk around.

I have added the zombies and have been tweeking some of the playability settings (various zombies and their abilites). My primary aim as a solo producer is just to make a game which is ultimately fun to play. It is a bit frustrating that screenshots don't show that work. Thanks again for the feedback.

Cheers

Static.

At my mind this is a very promising start. You have an eye for the lighting of the levels, for contrasts and shadows. And you try to deliver high quality right from the beginning. This is a good sign that you will continue that way and even improve.

Hi Static707

I think your screen shots look pretty kool.

Is Intense-X easy to use ?

You CAN shoot an MP-5 with just one hand. However, the accuracy and effectiveness is marginal. However, I'm not quite sure if that's really an MP-5:

Maybe it's just the position of the camera that gives me the impression. But it reminds me more of the Compact MP-5 PDW (personal defense weapon) series:

That gun is more manageable one-handed, but still not too effective. Sub-machine guns are just really jumpy without two hands. Even the tiny Uzi is rarely, if ever, fired with one hand by trained shooters.

If you ever need help/advice about making weapons realistic, feel free to pm me. I've been an enthusiast/collector/marksman/hunter since I climbed out my cradle! wink I can even provide free 3-view pictures of any gun I own (i.e., AK-47, AR-15/M-16, M-1 Carbine, etc). It's one of my passions, and I love to see realistic guns in games.

And guys, no offense, but please don't be so harsh. He's not even finished yet. So what if he uses Intense-X and "clicks together" the game? He's obviously got some talent for world/level design, lighting, etc. Isn't that what Intense-X was made for? So an artist could work alone and make a good game, even if they don't program? I'm a programmer, so I always write my own code, but I think that's a great tool for those of us who have different types of skills.

So great work so far! I'll be more than happy to advise and test this when you're ready!

Nice job static 707.

I have a question about intense-x as thier forum seems to be very slow in replying.

Does Intense-x fully support saveing and loading of games in progress.
Just wondering as they appear to use external memory structures instead of skills of the entities, so have they implemented this correctly.

Thanks Jethro

However for a closed subway station the floor and everything is much too clean. Add more dirt.

Not only that. I already made two subway levels, so I can say that the columns are to near to the platform edge. You should move them back a little bit.
Or you can move the yellow line forward and make it thinner. Should have the same effect.

Why more dirt ?

Some games like Mirror Edge , without Dirt are beautifull grin

Next Gen dark, dirt, bloody games become really borring smile !

Right, but then, he'd to use also these clean textures, to complete the style. I think he would not like to redo all textures... wink

Nice looking screens anyway! Keep up working, I'd love to see some IntenseX shooter!
