Has anybody heard of the opensource engine OGRE.

Im pretty impressed with the engine over all.

Is it possible to somehow get 3DGS to use that engine? Has anybody had any success with it.

they are 2 completely different engines.
It is like saying, "I am driving a mustang,
can I drive a camaro at the same time".

the work to combine the engines would probably be
a horror... It would be easier to write an engine
from scratch....

OGRE is really amazing, and free! So why isn't everyone using OGRE?
because it would take you many times longer to master, and
many times longer to make a game with it....

Irrlicht and Panda3d might be choices, but I think 3DGamestudio is much
better. I prefer to spend a little money to same me time...
