(this course is about one third of the advanced-rendering course they are offering)

This sounds like a good deal for all Gamestudio users interested in shader programming. The instructor, Wolfgang Engel, is a known shader guru and the author of the ShaderX books.

Hey that sounds good! But I have no knowledge of DirectX (little offtopic: except I've had a little experience in programming DirectX DirectSound 9 in C#).

i hope that there will be some kind of summary available for download. i have only 56kdialup at home, so it wouldnt be free for me, and at work where we have dsl(we dont have needed gpu's) .
i dont know, but as it is free, there may be the possibility that someone posts something of what he learned when its done.(if allowed?)
