something strange happening here, i use snd_play ( SOUND*, var Volume, var Balance); to play my sounds, it all starts off ok, but halfway through gameplay, i only hear things in the left channel... anybody else experienced this? its rather strange since i explicitly set my balance to 0 ... oh and the background music, played by media play, is playing in both channels...

you need to adjust the var balance SOUND* Sound pointer Volume volume (0..100). Balance stereo balance (-100 .. +100). Negative values turns the sound to the left, positiv to the right speaker.. edit: anybody else experienced this? its rather strange since i explicitly set my balance to 0 ... sorry didn't read this but the balance works fine here...

Example: SOUND* mywhoosh = "whoosh.wav" var sndhandle sndhandle = snd_play(mywhoosh,100,0);
Also please note that the sound is played on the same side it is emited on. eg: If the sound source is to the left of the plyer, It will come sound out on the left speaker only. The only other way around this is to use ent_playsound instead.

i'm nowhere near the limit... when the game starts, everything is fine, then fter a while, all the sounds stop playing in the right channel, it cant be the sound files since they play right at first.. this is just so strange... yet the music using media_play still plays in both channels

this is SO strange.. if i set the balance to -100 or 100, then it plays in both channels, now if i'm right, it shoouldnt do that.. right?
-100 - left channel +100 - right channel
so why is it that when i set the balance to 0, it only plays in the left channel and if i set it to 100/-100 then i get full stereo?
i dont want to release the game like that only to have everyone else here one channel playing...

Is it a mono or stereo wav. Make sure you read the manual about file types I think it states something about using mono for snd_play

I think it gives you an error message if you try to use stereo in snd_play.
If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something.
