Hello..

I would like to know how can i export my map from Maya 09 to 3DGS??

I cant find and MDL plugin.... maya 2009

I would like to know if the textures that i created with bump mappings are going to be the same..

andd... i tryed .obj.. but didnt work too..

you should be exporting the files as fbx in maya, then importing them in MED and resaving as .mdl

and some objects are duplicating... =pp

don't know why your object is duplicating unless you're importing it twice into the same scene, every time you import, create a new scene in MED.
As for the textures, you have to reattach them in MED via the skin manager tool found in the edit bar

You should do the follow when you export FBX from Maya:


  • Combine the Model into one mesh (without merging)
  • If you not combine, then you should make a group (strg + g)
  • Clear the complete History from the model
  • set the base texture again via multilister or hypershader
  • set the edges to smooth or hard (or combine smooth and hard)
  • Clear History again
  • export the model


I export the model like this, and for me it allways worked.

EDIT:
If you want to export for levelblocks, then its a good idea to set "Export Hard Edges" in the FBX exportwindow.
