Hello, I use the commercial version A7.7 and I am testing some multi-player features. Is there a way to give the client the IP address of the server other than in a batch file or as parameter when starting the program?
I use ANet, a Plugin for 3DGS. With this Plugin you can do that. The server send his IP (udp) to all Computers in the Network. With the client you can received this IP... and after that connecting with the Server...
Hello Widi, I did download the ANet a little while ago but since I am just beginning to explore the multiplayer stuff I thought it would be better to first stick with the "built-in" features.
ANet is great! With the built-in features from 3dgs you don`t can get the IP from the server at runtime. Also a powerfull feature are the Events from ANet. With this Events you can start a Function directly at all / one client(s) very easy and with no high traffic. I no more will miss this ...
