people stop lying because the lies are broken. clearing up crimes will go up 100%
people will begin to either hate or love each other because everyonekows what the other one is thinking.
the complete world order will chagne. politicians, big company bosses, everyone will be on the run.
mass riots and murder will happen because some people couldnt stand how much their world changes.
the complete religious system will begin to riot before it breaks down as soon as they realize how wrong they are.
same goes for racism, especially in europe where rracism against europeans is gettign bigger every day.
everybody will stop to care about all that stuff thats so important for us now, because we already know.
the complete entertainment section will break down because we know whats to come before its even made.
wars will be fought for nothing because its the only thing that people wont know the outcome, globally speaking.
the entire system breaks down. those who dont have the power for telepathy will go on a hunt for the otehrs because of jealousy and so forth...

if there are psi powers then there will also be the possibility to fake and block thoughts, as well as there will be differences as to how powerful people are. so there might be a pupil more powerful than a teacher. on the other side, people will learn to not present their personal thoughts in public. otherwise, as you said, we will just be some kind of borg collective.

The decay of social behaviour. During a transition period, "gifted" individuals would be first seen as a novelty, then contained as a threat to the status quo, creating fugitives who would cluster into their own collectives, constantly under threat from those outside of their abilities. Battles would be fought between those that have and those that have not the ability until one side dominates. New social behaviour would be established, favoring the dominate side.

I think if you look at the many expressions of violence in our society-- war being one of those that keeps happening-- you really don't need to know how to read minds to know what others are thinking. And you certainly don't need to read minds to know what holywood will do next. Also, there are a lot of folks that know their spiritual beliefs are built on a foundation of jello; however, they go to church or worship in groups nonetheless. Do people care about the truth? Do they value it? In reality finding a God fearing man who won't beat you when you burn dinner is more valuable than the truth.

I think what you're talking about is a better connection between minds. That is if we could read minds, you would be better connected to your fellow man-- too connected perhaps. What would happen when morally good dumb minds are connected to smart evil ones. Will the dumb minds be outraged, enlightened or dissapointed? Will the smart minds gain empathy, be dumbed down or become more evil? What is the worth of enlightened dumb minds? What is the worth of an evil mind that understands more? I think the potential for chaos is there; but also, the potential for harmony is there. Oh well, let's face it-- it ain't going to happen.

That's wrong. Truth will be as useful as before, meaning people still would want to learn stuff. Perhaps telepathy would be just a new way of 'reading a book', but instead you'd be reading a teachers mind instead.

I'm sure gaining knowledge will still require effort just the same, meaning a test might change it's form, but not it's abstract sense.



I doubt this, as it would depend on the definition and practice of telepathy. What if you need to be 'within a certain range'? What if people can 'block you out'? Etc.

I'm sure it would be a communicative skill that not every person would be able to master as good as the next, regardless of the actual workings behind telepathy.

well but the global consciousness is also about telepathy as a universal device no matter distance. Like quantum entanglement.

and when i say learn, i think you dont have to go school because you already now everything because its global, you know what is happening and you know that you know everything you want to know. i think we can feel it.

Now imagine there is aliens around and acessing this foruns, they read other forums and they know what people are talking about them.. So they know what we think about them. And there is some opinions about the bad sides of it. And if they are going to let us have that gift, they can refuse it.
