Gimp's 2.7.1 Beta already delivers the one window interface. I might consider using Gimp regularly now...

Wow finally a good reason for me to switch to GIMP. The one annoying thing was this multi window look.

Recently the Gimp 2.7.3 Beta was released which finally provides a feature complete one-window-interface just as other improvements. Windows users probably will have to wait until a compiled version gets released at http://www.partha.com/ (Note: It'll probably be called 2.7.4 as there already is a 2.7.3 version which just was a slightly newer 2.7.2 branch that got compiled and was called 2.7.3)...

They have released the 2.7.3 version with the single window!

No - as I described the 2.7.3 you get now isn't the 2.7.3 release. It's just the 2.7.2 release with a couple of additional fixes and thus something inbetween 2.7.2 and 2.7.3. I also don't know why this version got called 2.7.3 - that's why the "real" windows version based upon the 2.7.3 release probably will be called 2.7.4 for Windows users...

It also has a the one-window-interface (that has been in the betas for quite a while anyway) - it's just not the nearly bugfixed version of the latest 2.7.3 release but for giving it a shot it's stable enough...

As it wasn't done by Partha they called it 2.7.3 which could make things a bit confusing...

am i missing something or this real 2.7.3 does not have single window interface?

click window>single window (something like that)
