Hi all laugh.

I am having some problems in A7 and i am fairly new to the use of it since i am a first year student.

I have made a model in maya and textures in mudbox. all show up very well in the model editor no backfaces ect ect...

Then when i load it in the Wed its also fine but as soon as i start the game the objects are transparent and look like they are backfacing in some parts (even though the model is error free in all other programs).

I have looked trough the whole WED but im to much of a newb to figure it out frown.

Some help plz laugh

Looks fine in Med but then--->

Hello babalski, welcome to the forum.

Here's your solution:

open the model in med.
go to edit->manage skins
selet skin
click on skin settings
click on texture format
select 24-bit
click ok
save model

make sure you arent saving your textures as 32bit but 24 instead...
-seems quadraxes already answered :)-

Yeah we use A7 for gamelab, the 6 of us function as if we where a company and we need to produce a game in 14 school weeks (14 days).

Its lotsah fun laugh.

Anyway i almost finished the level i am working on.

Got two errors:

1: The gate to the next level is not showing up, i see it in the wed and the behaviour and textures are good (also on 24 bit) bit the model is not showing up in game.

2: there is a model that is not showing up in the WED but it is showing up extremely large in-game.

Writing this down i think the two might be connected Lemme check.

EDIT: and it was... Scaling like a maniac grin

you can check model paths for that, either make sure they are on same folder as your maps or you add paths to your script.

Pain and suffering...

Working on a Level in the WED the controls start going in overdrive.

hyper-reactive transform buttons (scale and rotate mostly) make it almost impossible to softly turn a model. I might have done this by accident and i have no idea how to fix it. Plz hlp laugh tomorrow is my deadline..

in WED (to find and modify an overscaled model):
- search for your model into the left pane by name
- right click on it and select 'Go to object' (it's just to position the view)
- select on the left-bottom pane 'Position' tab; try to input manually scale factor into 'Scale' edit field
- in the 'Rotate' field you can type exact angle

also, you can setup moving/rotating snapping in the 'File/Preferences' menu.
