Cuz you don't have brushes, only 16-Bit color, no alpha and many more...

Use GIMP or photoshop ...

I use gimp and it is really handy for 2d graphics in games, such as panels.

I reccomend it.

to answer your question gimp is easy for me to use- but then again I have had it for about 4 months and I now understand almost everything i need to know to make great looking panels.

regards,
michael

I use Paint sometimes, when i need a squared singlecolor element quickly.
(Paint starts very fast)

For the real 2D work I use Gimp.
Its free, and does the job. But I would not call it as
advanced as PS. There are still some quirks in the
program.

i agree. gimp is ok if your on a tight budget, or doing it all for free.

I use Paint.net for easier bitmaps and Gimp for more complexer things, because Paint.net is easyer to handle i think
