Hello, recently I've been downloading demo games from the 3dGamestudio site. On some of the games that I download, the game runs very slow and lags quite a bit. I've been trying to figure out why it does this, because everything else runs fine. By chance I found if I just plug my flash drive into the computer that the game runs at normal speed. I'm not running the game off my flash drive, or even have anything on my flashdrive running, but as soon as I plug it in, the game stops lagging and runs normally. Some games that do this are the Wild West Multiplayer and BouncexDream. I was wondering if anyone knew how to fix this problem so I wouldn't have to use my flashdrive. Thanks in advance, and sorry if I posted in the wrong section.

That sounds like a very weird problem.

This is a complete stab in the dark -- games that use .ogg sounds run extremely slow if the .ogg codec isn't installed. That can be found here -- http://www.vorbis.com/

Of course, I have no idea if the games you tried use .ogg sounds, nor if it could be connected to the flash-drive thing (perhaps you have codecs on the flash drive? I honestly have no idea how codecs work).

But that has historically been a common reason for GS games to run really slowly when they shouldn't.

If you've got Vista or higher, and ReadyBoost is enabled, You're probably getting an extra 2gb worth of fast-access swap-memory. This might make a difference...
