I'm looking for 4 player offline (!) games for the PS3 and Wii, this type of games seems to become rare.
Does anyone know some games besides Marvel UA, Mario Bros Wii, Fairytale Fights and Mario Kart?
Thanks in advance!

Boom Blox is always pretty fun. And it's really cheap nowadays (Side note: I've linked the second game in the series, but only played the first, so take that as you will).

Fair enough, it's really more turn-based (in most modes), but it's still a good multiplayergame. Probably better than Mario Party.
Also, many people will now probably say "SSBB!!!", cryptically saying that they enjoy "Super Smash Bros. Brawl" a lot, but to be honest, it never really turned out to be all that fun with several people for me, but maybe thats just me.

As far as PS3 goes, I believe the only multiplayer-party game I've played on that is Singstar, which is also pretty enjoyable, more so if you're willing tos pend lots and lots of money in their store, buying a million other songs.

... There should be another YDKJ. Those were great fun (though three player only). If you can find one of those (the first three german parts were awesome, the fourth apparently not), then thats another recommendation right there. Though not for PS3 or Wii avaible. Aww, fiddlesticks!

Perhaps this post will get me points for originality at least.

Check out Dungeon Deities! It's amazing and will make you happy, successful and almost certainly more attractive! It might be true!

- Little Big Planet
- Mario Party
- Kirby's Air Ride (it's a GCN game but you can play it on the Wii, right?)
- Trine from PS Network (though it's only 3 player co-op but really awesome)

My brother was checking out a review for a game recently -- I can't remember which one, but basically it was a good game with 4 player split-screen multiplayer (the most important type of multiplayer on a console wink ) and the review made no mention of it.

I was thoroughly disappointed, and we discussed that many games with 4 player split-screen have that feature ignored by reviewers unless that feature is the game's saving grace.

Hence my signature.

So I'm glad you brought this up.

I'm also glad you said "PS3 and Wii" because those are exactly what we've got.

To emphasise what's been said by others:
- Little Big Planet for SURE
- Super Smash Bros Brawl DEFINITELY laugh (and that's actually the only game we have on Wii)

Others:
- Resistance Fall of Man -- a solid first person shooter if you really have to play a FPS on a console (the multiplayer is solid). Resistance 2 was apparently very incredible, I just don't know off the top of my head if it had 4-way split screen.
- Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1 or 2 are basically ONLY good if you're going to player with a chunk of other people in the same room, and then they're great.
- Motorstorm Pacific Rift if you've got an HDTV -- track visibility can be really difficult, but it's a great split-screen racer.
- Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars got bad reviews because all-in-all it's not a fantastic game. But the multi-player is WAY cool. Split-screen of course. Download the demo off PSN if you're hesitating because of its reception, but I really liked the multiplayer.
- Rock Band -- I don't actually have it but most of my mates have it on one console or another. Brilliant laugh

Of course the best and most fun in the world is DDR -- if you've still got an old PS2 you can easily get DDR and two dance-mats (TWO is very important. Not one) for REALLY cheap on ebay or something, or just get the latest version on Wii but it'll set you back some more. The most brilliant fun that can be had in video games, I reckon.

Thanks for persevering wink

And let's not forget Call of Duty, 4 players can play it in a splitscreen.

Thanks guys for your answers, I've already tried Little Big Planet with my friends and somehow the fun got away after some of the very first levels.
I do own Super Smash Bros Brawl but forgot to mention it. After playing this title we tried the N64 version which we and esp. I enjoyed a lot more (the GCN version is great, too). In my opinion Nintendo overloads their games more and more, I don't like that.
@Jibb: I think the same, there is no better gaming experience than playing with 3 friends on the couch in front of your TV and console.

Brillo laugh I can't believe I forgot to mention:

Warhawk on PS3. 4-player split-screen while playing online 32-player match. If you're lucky you can get everyone on the same team and co-ordinate tanks or whatever. Pure multi-player -- no single-player mode at all.

Absolutely brilliant.

Buy it on PSN.

By far my favourite multiplayer game on the PS3.

TMNT smash up on wii, much like smash bros but with a classic healthbar system.

ghostbusters for wii (i prefer the wii version, yes)

spider-man friend or foe (its way too easy though)

mario kart obviously.

sonic and sega all star racing (like mario kart but with sega characters and loopings)

f-zero GX (gamecube) cuz its awesome.

mario party (all)

rayman raving rabbids (all)

resident evil (insert name here) chronicles. best get both, for they fill in ALOT of backstory for resident evil 4 and 5

resident evil 5 (duh) XD

zelda four swords adventures (you need two GBA and cables though)

new super mario bros wii (because its awesome)

excite bots (if you live in the USA)
the sequel to excite trucks but MUCH BETTER in all aspects. to bad it never got released outside of the US of A...

quantum of solace if you like splitscreen shooters.
