Player would be allow to build machines and attribute the actions to the machine like move, rotate etc, harvest or not and the "game" would react to such actions, letting things interact, farming robots.. etc..accounting with pollution to the atmosphere depending on the resource.. and water purification process, and consumption rates
Such an idea is not that far from reality. I want you to see the demo Im working on, it should be ready in about a month.
