I got bored, and so i made a load more 3D models. they are in the .3ds and .mdl format, and are free to download.

You could try using sharp edges for.. well sharp edges, that gets rid of all that weird gorouard (or how the eff you write that 'friking word) shading where it doesnt fit, and even works when you import into MED from .3ds laugh

EDIT: looked again, its Hard edges (Edge mode -> Select edges -> Right click -> hardness -> hard)

Here a comparison (left with hard edges, right without)

does GS support edge smoothing then?
I was always under the impression it did not.. might be wrong there tongue

not exactly, but the gorouard (wtf) shading has almost the same bad looking result

you can achieve selective sharp edges through disconnecting polygons from the surrounding ones wink

Year disconnect them and you cant use Stencil shadows anymore(until we have a proper shadowmapping, this will remain as a problem).

bevel is the other, better looking solution but it´ll increase the poly count
