I crashed my game when i tried to add an 'overlay' flag to my view entity life meter - fixed it by using TGA with alpha chanel on MED, it worked for the entity.
The manual is very, VERY vague about this entity, wich is VERY crucial for 3d menus and other important features found in comercial games.
I was able to sincronize vertex animations, panning and position changes in vec_to_vertex coordinates of several view entityes for an animated menu, wich was quite enough to e, but couldn't attach panels or texts to them because of value coordinate differences (my guess is that, when the X value is different from zero - the distance deep from the view camera - those coordinates become different from the panel ones).
