I have been following the "Outside World I" tutorial in the WED Editor tutorial on the GS7 downloads page. I am currently trying to add sun to the outside of the house I just built. Right now I see a blue sky with clouds, but my house and ground are pitch black.

I followed the instructions that the tutorial gave me on how to set the sun color, sun azimuth, and sun elevation to achieve light on the outside. However, everything is still pitch black on the house and ground.

Here are my sun settings under File/Map Properties/Sun:

Sun: 255 255 0
Ambient: 5 5 5

Sun Azimuth: 255.000
Sun Elevation: 60.000

Does anybody have a clue on why the house I created along with the ground it sits on are still pitch black? I did change my Nexus value recently under File/Map Properties/Main, if that has anything to do with it. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

uhm, is the third value not for the brightness? so i guess if you put there an 0 ist complete dark. I never tested it though a light or sun with 0 brightness.

In making the house shape, I did what the tutorial told me to do, which was click Object/Add Primitive/Misc/House. So I am guessing it is a model, as opposed to a block.

Thanks chris_out. It looks like your idea worked. My house and ground are now visible by increasing the brightness number. I appreciate it. smile
