Does anybody has an idea or knows how it could be passable to make specbots (like in counterstrike source).
I meen the quality of counterstrike source looks alittlebit like the quality of 3dgs.

We could make the same grafics, even better physics, then why not those wonderfull spec bots?

But I have no idea how I could make spec bots.
So I ask the forum.

PS;
Spec bots are artifitical Intelligent based ai.
That meens they can think and never do the same.

exsample from conter strice source;
specbots

I would be thankfull for a reaply.

Hehe) dude, quality of SOURCE ENGINE doesn't looks even a little bit like the GS grin quality of SOURCE is 1000000% better! And there is no way to make better physics. Havok physics are better then ODE also for 1000000%. About making same graphics, ye, that is possible, but the frame rate will be really different! What about the Spec bots, sorry... don't know how to realize that...

@3run Create Response
Graphically I think you can achive the same.
With Phisyk I don't know perhaps with the PhysX you can achieve the same

But now to the bots
At first you need a good pathfinding system which takes also coverage in account

Second the bots must be aware of each other and also work with each other.

Not an AI like: How can I get best to the Enime to kill him on my one.

For the first: A* or the other one without heuristic
For the second: Boids?? integrating into costs funktions?

your term "artifitical Intelligent based ai" is brilliant

I hope my answer helped a little bit.

As I already sad, you can do the same... but there will be huge differences between frame rate... And there is no PhysX at the moment... will see in A8.

There IS phyisc already implented in the beta versions, works well wink

And the source engine isn't THAT much better, they just have better coders to work with it

Source is better, stop arguing. And about the physics... that is a beta of A8! Not A7 (we are talking about A7 now...).
Random, if you want me to, I can give you a simple bot, that uses pathfinding and chases player. I've made it based on Perfect AI from AUM 64. Just PM me, and I'll send you a demo.

Sry, ofcourse I meen A8 and PhysX. (anyway A8 is already soported with PhysX, or?)

And when I look at the shaders, and physics of A8, I sometimes have the feeling our css is made with A8.
Of course not, but A8 could move on and say, he css now we are 50/50

And is it true that you can make with PhysX that is implented in A8, destuction physic?
I meen one model that you can destroy into hundrets of pieces, like in red faction gorilia? (Ofcourse not that extrem...)
