By accident I´ve discovered the solution for invisible
entities that should throw a shadow:

Use vmask to suppress visibility.
The shadow will stay.

Nice. I had no use for this before, but now that you mention it ideas are flooding into my head--invisible enemies whom you can only see by their shadow!
