Hi,

Because the FBX-Import-function is missing in my MED drop down menu, I cant import animations with bone weights. This problem have been since a long time now (so the 8.10 Version is not the reason for that)

I tried to reinstall gamestudio (with many restarts) but nothing helped! Maybe is there a easy way to get it working?

The easy way is to install one of your older versions(A7) and copy the fbx dlls from the med_plugins folder to your med_plugins folder of A8.
I never did that because I have several versions installed anyway and use an old version of MED, when ever I need the fbx import.

Maybe the reason is that you once copied DLLs from old versions (A7) like Pappenheimer suggested, because a mix of old and new DLLs will probably make a mess of your import filters. Deinstalling wont help then because it only deinstalls A8 but does not erase those old versions. My advice is to deinstall first all Gamestudio versions completely and then manually erase the folders from the hard disk, especially the MED plugins folder, then install A8 again.

I never messed dlls up, and I always deleted the folder completely before reinstalling. At the moment Iam reinstalling A7, maybe it works then. Really strange problem

Edit:
I tried A7 but it doesnt work as well, but after closing MED I saw that a med.txt file is created with a lot of errors concerning med-dlls.

one of them concerning the fbxexport.dll:

Code:
load dll: med_plugins\FbxFiles2010.dll
Can't load library <H:\Program Files (x86)\GStudio7\med_plugins\FbxFiles2010.dll>
System message #14001:
The Application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log for more detail.
error loading

i tried already:
- reinstall Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86)
-...?

I only once used the fbx()2010, but I wasn't satisfied.
I used the (12.2005) version, it worked for my models with bones weight, that I built in Blender. In the earlier versions of A7 MED still has the fbx importers from 2005 and 2006.

There is a free tool named dependency walker, it shows you which system DLLs are required to load a certain DLL. Probably, one of those system DLLs is missing in your Windows installation, thats why the fbx2010 DLL does not load.
