Yes, i think that too. You can do that with pixel_for_bmap and pixel_to_bmap functions. Use 2 bitmaps, one for the back and one for the "terrain". The terrain should be have a alpha channel. If a bomb explode set all pixels alpha in a circle around this pos to fully transparent.
