have a look to the british adventure scene...
still working, still alive. You can only underestimate the british scene. They bring up the best bands like stones, queen, cure, oasis, best directors like hitchcock... and I am sure - they grow in a successful way with this game genre

link to "terror in adventures"

and you can handle with cruel words like "the graphics are bad and the gameplay is crap" but the difference is... the make and finish it.

Terror is just a compilation of the two Darkfall games from J. Boakes and the game Barrow Hill, all made between 2003 and 2006. The Darkfall titles are a couple of good examples of "lone wolf" titles developed that went onto some success. I always liked the retro poster art for the release.

Adventures are still alive and well, especially in Europe and thanks in part to "Telltale Games." The success with their episodic gaming release model with new stories in old adv. franchises and new series like Sam & Max, Monkey Island, King's Quest, Back to the Future, Bone, and Jurassic Park (among others) help keep it going. The casual, handheld, and phone markets add a lot of interest, too.
