You need a shader. I dont know how to create this one, but here are some shaderexperts. (hummel, slin)

You dont necessarily NEED a shader for everything...
there is a nightvision example in the AUM 18, sure its very simple and in old c-script, but it may be enough for your needs and can easily be converted.

Simply toggling "camera.ambient" to 100 and back to 0, will do the job, there is no need to use a shader stuff for such simple things!

Make the player cast green light will look better IMHO. Old Counter Strike games do this for the night vision. Of course, combine it with convert-all-rgb-to-green shader and bloom shader will looks more realistic wink
