Hi,

I found in A8 a strange skin texture stretching error of transparent terrains, experienced when a sky cube image (not model) is used, AND u and/or v is set for the terrain. (The same happens with or without a 2nd detail skin.) It can be seen only from some camera angles/distances, but I cannot define it...

I mentioned it in my previous post about blinking models, but I've got no answer for this problem (or caused by the same rendering bug?).

My example is still online at:
http://uploading.com/files/8bc2bfcm/blinking.main.cd.2.rar/

If you comment line 222 >Map_Water_Tracing();< in main.c, the water terrain becomes transparent always, thus the problem can be seen more easily... but it results in another problem, a sorting error of 32b leaves of tree models (trunks remain okay)...

I had not seen any stretching in your project, but I'll check it again.

- I still see no stretching after outcommenting line 222. Can you give me the xyz position from where the stretching is visible?

hi

when the mentioned line is commented, I did the following trials, these position can be found easily by the arrow keys, just go mainly forward, without rotating the camera:
camera-1: x2589, y675, z482, pan45, tilt-40
camera-2: x4566, y-1643, z1271, pan45, tilt-17

I checked the corresponding camera object positions too:
cam.obj.1: x2925, y1014, z78
cam.obj.2: x5456, y739, z870

I experience it very often when camera is moved and rotated around the water terrain... Could it be a video card problem? (Geforce6200)

Thanks,
Ivan

Hi again,
I checked, the same happens on another pc with a different video card (ATI Radeon Xpress 1200). But both of them have AMD processors.
Or my eyes are wrong? laugh

I can confirm the bug.
when the camera gets close enough to the water surface it's texture stretches in one direction.
when moving away it becomes normal again.

Might be an engine bug or a bug in the game.
My laptop has an nvidia graphics card, but that doesn't matter I think.
