Hello Forum,

now i want to present my first project called Anomalie.
It is the first level but i have a lot of work to do before it is ready to download here for a first try laugh

Just a few screenshots are available and i want to share them with you.

I do this project on my own and i am not the best modeller or leveldesigner but i hope it looks ok and you are not scared and run away xD

Ok a little bit of the story.

Darren is a scientist for paranormal phenomenon. Due to his daily work an unexpected blackout of the RFPP (Research facility for paranormal phenomenon) causes damage to the generator. After the blackout was fixed a huge explosion destroyed the generator and all scientists in the research laboratory include Darren takes severe radiation and swooned.
After Darren woke up he is in the basement of the facility but something is wrong ...

Here you can see how the waterarrow looks like which casts the Frostlurker

And this is the Endboss

The Endboss casts Frostgelenk what will slow down the player, then a few seconds later the boss will cast Elementarbindung (a Elemental spawns and attacks the player) with a 15% dmg boost. If the player kills the Elemental the Boss looses due to the Elementarbindung 25% of his lifepoints.
The same until the boss is dead.

I am new here and i hope you have any tipps for me to do things better (like modelling/texturing/leveldesign) because this is truly not the best game ever laugh

Oh just i forgot how you can see the most of the models are untextured this will be fixed a little bit later.

I hope it is ok that i used realspawns marine.mdl as a placeholder for the player.
If not please tell me and i will remove this immediately.

For your first project, it looks quite descent. Good job.

The last to screenshots do now show, because they link to an invalid url.

Hover the link with your mouse and read the link which is shown at the bottom left(or right) corner. You'll see they differ. The real link (for some reason) has "\\\\\\\" in its url.

Racksha, that's probably caused by the forum itself, from my experience, when you show more than 6 images on the same post only the first 6 are shown and the others appear with an invalid url

Great start !

Anyway you should correct the ligthening : the floor is incredibly black ; we can see anything on floor ??
Same thing some objects are very lightened like the shelves and other stuff ??
But perhaps it's simple prototype gameplay only ?

To fix that problem with highlighted models, set "sun_light" to zero via script, for example in main function, right before (or after) loading level. Plus, in WED, make sure that there is no ambient for sun, this will remove static shadows from sun (WED->File->Map properties->Sun->Ambient). And finally, set "Sun" to zero as well (path same as above). Great project so far.

For the first time, quite good! You did what many advanced projects miss: To add nice lighting to the level structure! But listen to ratchet: Make the light fit to the shelves as well.

Pretty good start. Are the fire elemental consists of particles instead of models? If so, maybe you have planned this, but it will be much cooler if you use fire image for the particles.
Judging from the screen shots, it seems that the view is bird-view type but the camera/control is 3rd person type, maybe it just me, but player can get it confusing(literally).
Also it looks to me that the level is not baked yet, all the lights look like dynamic light, you may find great difference if you bake all those dynamic light.
