Hi JCL, do you keep an archive of previous Gamestudio builds that are publicly accessibly?

For some reason, the in_passable function does not seem to be working as it did in previous builds (ie: when I tested the function in A8.03). I have recently just tested the function in the latest build of Gamestudio (A8.30) and my player swimming code, which relies on in_passable, is not working as it did earlier; however, in the latest build of A7 (A7.86), the function works perfectly. Since I did not keep an archive of A8.03 or any other builds that occurred since then and the latest build, I cannot confirm when my code stopped working.

ARent those in_(volumetype) functions obsoleted?

Yes. If I remember right, in_passable was a variable of the old AABB collision of A6 and earlier. For detecting if you're in water there are many possibilities, for instance a region check.
