Hey guys, my new portfolio website is up and running! Because I show also other stuff than games, I've decided to put this here. My intentions are primarily an internship and a job, after I finished my studies. Any criticism (be harsh!!!) will be appreciated! I just have to point out, that you'll have to have JavaScript turned on, that is the only downside (is it?). The reason for the creation was, by the way, a copyright issue, --- I had to rename one of my apps (now: Syntax Tree Viewer). That made me a bit sad, because it was kinda popular among linguics students. In addition, the old site was as unflexible as possible and it was not so much fun to maintain and expand it, so, well... yeah. Over the next few weeks I will (hopefully) add some new (and finished) projects, and soon I will also present here FireFlight in it's full details (actually, there are already some pics on the website). Regards, -Christian

Thank you guys the minimalistic approach was intended and yes, I payed for it. But it was rather cheap, because I chose to buy a templated implementation framework, based on jquery and other stuff. Sounds cheap and faky but it turned out to be a healthy decision. I had to tweak the CSS a lot, though, and fix some bugs, especially with the used webfont and umlauts (ü,ä,ö).

Guys, I facelifted my website. It works now also on smartphones and tablets and hosts a new dev-section, on which I'll upload new stuff in the future. I also created a SSAO-product page and hosted my Desktop Grabbing Demo there as well. Click here. Best regards, -Christian

I do like it! You may want to consider adding a "You need to activate JavaScript"-text if you detect the user not having Javascript. Most of your page works fine without, but you can't click on the projects in the portfolio-screen. Since it's not completely apparent without the mouseover that there's info behind those screens (and since you can't reach that without javascript), those people would otherwise never notice that there's more info on the projects. Also, one of these days I want to find the time to read more about your research-projects. They do sound fascinating! EDIT: Also, there's a typo on the Syntax-tree page. "god choice"? I WOULD NEVER HIRE SOMEONE SO UNPROFESSIONAL I am kidding, of courseI haven't read through the other projects, so who knows if there are typos there! I don't!

Perhaps this post will get me points for originality at least.
Check out Dungeon Deities! It's amazing and will make you happy, successful and almost certainly more attractive! It might be true!

That is great, thank you I can give that back for your game as well! I really enjoy each new screen. You may want to consider adding a "You need to activate JavaScript"-text if you detect the user not having Javascript Honestly, I have no clue how to do that. On the other hand, I strongly believe that JavaScript is very, very popular again and that most people have turned it on. Yahoo! did a survey 1 or 2 years ago and they found out that they had a relatively stable amount of just 1% of users who have JavaScript disabled. For a search engine provider an amount of 1% is a huge number of people, but I guess I can safely ignore this circumstance. there's a typo on the Syntax-tree page. "god choice"? Hahaha ^^ thanks! I fixed that. those people would otherwise never notice that there's more info on the projects. That might happen, yes - but it is way better than before where most people with big screens didn't catch the slider-buttons for reaching my portfolio at all and, I strongly believe that if there is someone who is really really interested in a project would contact me with the form or by email. Interestingly, the images on the portfolio page darkened them before with a small text "click to see details". That was nice, but very disturbing as well, so I changed that they just "glow". I assume that the user intuitively browses with the mouse over the page and notices that hand and the glow. If that doesn't happen, the user must be a very unexperienced surfer. Also, one of these days I want to find the time to read more about your research-projects. They do sound fascinating! Thank you very much There is actually a bit more and I have something in the works, as well, so, if you are interested or if you have questions, just ask.
