All objects are too shiny, looks great on guns, but not on human models.
Is there a way to lower the specular? thnx

Thnx, but i'm talking about modifying Matt Aufderheide's Normal Mapping Shader.
Because everything is a little bit too shiny. Is there a line in there somewhere that i can change so that it is less shiny?

i think by adjusting the material skills (ambient, diffuse, specular, emissive) you can make the shader darker.
try a negative value for ambient_red, ambient_green, ambient_blue. that should work (if not, try the same with emissive and diffuse).

Doesn't his shader use specular maps? If not, than it should That would allow you to control it.

Yes, they do use Specular maps, so, please help me, what do i do?

Yes, it does use specular maps. So, what do i do to darken it up?

Correct. The lighter the parts of the map are, the more specular is being used. Solid white is like pure gloss, while solid black is a very dull look.

EDIT:
To darken it -> open it up in photoshop, then select the image>adjust>brightness and contrast option. Drag the slider down to darken it. Or, if you don't have any software for image editing, just make a black square in Paint and save it over the spec map. That'll remove all specular used.

I think lowen the contrast is better as to lowen the bright/darkness, because the balance between lighter and darker surfaces keeps equal. If you darken instead of contrast lowening, dark grey surfaces get black and you never get will them grey again.
