Hi,

Do not have the time for a complete review atm, so just two quick notes:
1) camera.arc seems to have the wrong value? The viewing angles are really to small. Maybe this "illusion" occures, because you can only see a real small part of the weapon.

2) second 28: Maybe better let the airplane explode. I'm pretty sure than an airplane can not slow down from 800 to 10 in less than one second laugh

regards,
timo

The bullets shouldn't "hit" the sky

I appreciate the input.

I hadn't thought about the plane speed when hit. I'll try to fix that so the plane slows and loses altitude before going into free fall.

Actually the bullets aren't hitting the sky. They explode at max range like flak. I don't know if Bofors guns shot flak but I like the effect, even if it's not historically accurate. laugh

no offense, it looks good, although... WWII uh, its kinda been done to death. Not trying to rag on your project or say you shouldnt go that way, but I figure something to consider if you hadnt already.

Hi Jazz, first of all, I like this old school games very much. Reminds me of the first years in the new century.
Maybe you could optional add some cross in the middle of the screen and you could ( if time is no enemy ) improve the explosion effects. Some sparks, some debris of the planes, add some scripted flights from behind over the cam...

Years ago, I made this crap. Nobody likes it... but no one knows the feeling to develop it!

NIce video. I like that interspersing live footage with game scenes.

Yes, I could easily put cross-hairs on the screen but it would take away the challenge of leading by flak explosions. Actually I'm not sure how they aimed pom-pom guns there was a gunner on each side and cross-hairs for each gunner...oh, well, it's just a little fun game--a week or so of effort and a couple weeks of bug-smashing and tweaking.

I have taken Techmuc's advice and revised the fall patterns of the planes to be more realistic.

LostClimate: I think the space and sci-fi games are the ones done to death. I'm only interested in historical games. Pearl Harbor attracted me because it happened when I was in the sixth grade (1941) and I spent the next couple weeks watching the skies for approaching bombers. shocked smile

Oh, yeah...I totally agree with the better explosions. I'm really crappy at coding particle stuff.
