I can confirm it. What is especially much better is terrain and instanced vegetation rendering performance (I played with it today a bit). I hope animation performance improvements come in 4.8 as promised.

That blueprint stuff is awesome! I just started watching videos about it and making dynamic lights switching on and off for actors moving into a volume is really a snap, done in just a few seconds, without coding something.

Awwww... and the shading - awesome!

I also liked examples where you could see someone doing a simple arcade game like space invaders. It really is a powerful feature and I guess the only problem about it is to stop yourself from using it for anything as its performance while not terribly bad is not the best either... wink

Downloaded Unreal, opened it, had no idea what to do or even where to start, realized my years of 3DGS experience mean nothing with a real engine, cried myself to sleep.

They already did afaik by not reacting at all... They also had a GDC presentation showcasing some new features and stuff, but they didn't change anything about their pricing policy so far and I think it unlikely to happen tbh.

They are said to be in a financial trouble.
And cryengine requires some 3rd party licences to have e.g. for audio, Photoshop is needed for texture conversions etc. Not so indie-friendly. I quickly checked it last year, but had problems with the asset pipeline. And no project system: one SDK is one project. Probably great for professional studios...
