I've gone through the manual and seen how to create and manipulate paths and regions with Lite-C code, but I can't find any tutorials on how to create and edit them in WED, where I can actually see how the path or region fits in my level. Any links that could help?

hi there!

as I'm using my cellphone right now, I can't help you much, but if you do not hurry I could upload some screens for you here (as soon as I'll have access to my PC), to show you how things are working.

greets

Here are some screens, on how to create/edit region in WED (PART ONE):
Quote:
In WED press mouse right button and select Add:
In the submenu press Add region:
The path will appear on the level as a small selected red box:
Select Vertex mode as shown on the picture:
Once you've selected Vertex mode, just press near by the path, and you'll notice that it will create nodes, which are linked to the original path "box" (cause it was selected at the beginning, you can select any node and start creating another outflow:
You can edit nodes which you've just created, to do that while you are in the Vertex mode, press and hold the node (make sure you don't miss it tongue ), as it become red you can freely move it around:

Here are some screens, on how to create/edit region in WED (PART TWO):
Quote:
If you want to link the end of the path with the start, make sure that you've selected the node:
Once you've selected the node which you want to connect with the start, hold down CTRL button and click on the beginning of the path:
On the left side, there is a PROJECT toolbar that contains all level stuff, select the path and edit it's name as needed:

THE END grin

I hope this will help you out (yet I thought that it's really obvious how to create and edit such simple stuff), and maybe even some other newbies as well. In the demo I've made you'll find a demo level which will contain path and region, two actors - one detects the region, another one moves in circles among the path. Good luck with your project!

Edit: I've made this all in three posts only cause there seems to be a limit for viewing uploaded images (6 MAX)...
