Thanks again for the input.
And yes, that is the main focus, making it hard but challenging and fair. After testplaying Superku for 2 days I've found that the one hit kill mechanic may not be that much fun anymore, so I'm thinking about removing it completely. D:
I think I prefer (in general) having only one difficulty option but I will think about. Then I can reduce the leaderboards to two best times, too. Having a centralized/ focussed experience is something I personally value (esp. when it comes to multiplayer games, I'd rather have only one single game mode that all people play).

Thanks ulfster, I like it HUD less too. Currently I've implemented the hit visuals similar to the heat thermometer, circular, fading out quickly again. The player gets temporarily invulnerable for 0.5 to 1 seconds like in old platformers, which is shown by tinting the player white during that period.

Uh yes, testing... it's interesting to see what problems player have with various things in the game, at the ackcon or watching my father/ brother and friends play. It's definitely helpful. However, it has its limits too, and I think it's important to find a balance between making what you think is best for the game/ create your own personal game and trying to make it appeal to everyone. This is what I'm going to try now, and I will keep on testing how the game feels with 3 hit kills.

Yes, that's cool (and in fact I meant Dico with my previous statement)! And thanks for the offer!

Currently, I'm not really sure what kind of beta test I want to make. shocked I'd like to know how it runs on various machines and such but for this project I think I've set pretty much everything in stone already. We will see though!

Oh well I hope that too! If you have a pixel/ vertex shader 3.0 compatible graphics card you should be able to play it, at least at a non-zero FPS rate.

@old_bill: Thanks, good to hear! wink

If you have the need for some extended beta test feedback I'm in for testing, otherwise I'll have to wait for the Steam release laugh
