Hello, and again a question. I have converted an wav audio file with audacity into ogg. The final files was an 48khz ogg file. I have tried to use that file with the engine and it was working. But in the manual I have seen that the engine does only support wav and ogg files with up to 44khz. With wav it does not work but with ogg. So is it secure to use also 48khz ogg files? It is the A7 engine. Because there was no error. Of course it is also possible to save it in 44khz. But it would interesting me.

ogg is a external dll free to use. the limits would be set by Vobis ogg not the engine. It is possible this was a limit at on time that has since been expanded in the oog codec

But I don't mean the media_play command for the ogg files. I mean the internal sound play commands of the engine. I thought that dll was implemented in the engine. I know that you need an external codec for media_play, of course, but I didn't know that for the internal commands. If this is true, I have to get sure to use 44khz files, because not everyone would have an updated ogg codec. And I also don't remember, that I have made an update.

The Ogg player uses the same Ogg library, only an internal version that was implemented in the engine. Thus 48kHz should be safe. The 44kHz limit was for WAV files.

Great to hear that. Thank you.

Beside another question about media_play. The question belongs only audio files like mp3.

I think it should be no problem today to play two media_play sounds at the same moment on each computer? True or not true?

I know, each midi file would need an extra sound card. But for other streams like mp3 it should be no problem I think.

I can only tell for videos with audio track played via media_play in parallel together with an audio track (means up to 3 media_play running simultaneously).
On any system I tested it worked fine, but with the published version at least two persons had problems we were not able to reproduce. It is not sure, whether the media_ instructions are involved in that problem, but for at least one person there's a strong suspicion.

Okay, thank you for the info. Can you tell me also what happened? Crash? Or does the second or third stream not start? Is only the first called stream running? Or only the second one? Or no one?

Actually I only got a screen shot which looks like the game had a hangup shortly after loading the level which triggers movie playback - so I don't know.

And which video format? wmv or anything else?

Do you have an idea why it was not working? Because I thougt that media_play is working on each windows machine? Or do you think the problem only happens if multiple streams are played simultaneously?

I used WMV genrated by Movie Maker as many other video formats had different problems on different machines (mainly missing codec or slow playback - I'm doing render to texture).

I think it might have been some sort of memory problem, but unfortunately I don't have any log file of any of the problems that occurred.
Even on slow PCs at work it was working fine for me.
