Hello I was wondering if anyone could please help me figure out how to do something.

I have a SpacePilot Pro 3d mouse and I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction. I would love to know what steps I need to take in order to design 3d models in MED (A7) using a 3d mouse.

I would like to know how to implement code into game studio in order to be able to rotate, pan, zoom, etc using a 3d mouse. I know programs like 3d studio max, auto-cad, etc already has support for the use of a 3d mouse making model design sweeter.

Any ideas is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I'm 99% sure this isn't going to work in Med.
I'd recommend you to try an actual modelling software (blender works pretty well for me) and see if there's an plugin which allows you to use your 3d-mouse.

Med is more like a model-converter where you can push some vertices around. Its lack of functionality makes it really hard to work with, that's why I suggest you to use something else.

Thanks for the advice.

The zoom function at least works along with the rest of the buttons via MED key mappings. Just don't have rotate, pan, and tilt but I easily manage those functions with the regular mouse will zooming with the pressure sensitive knob on the 3D mouse.

Maybe one day I'll master C and create a plugin using the 3dconnexion SDK kit. Until then I'll continue to use whats currently available.

Also glad to know blender works well as I was questioning other alternatives.

MED is right at the edge of being good enough for me at the moment however once I make the switch to A8 I'll most likely switch to modeling with something more complex. Modeling with a 3D mouse is so awesome cool

I am still a beginner to Blender, but can already recommend it over MED for the actual modeling. The interface can be confusing at the beginning but once you learned a few key hotkeys (like for scaling and extruding) its a big improvement. Also export to MED is easy, after which you can easily correct size & angle of the model if needed and e.g. add your skins and shaders if you haven't already done so in Blender.

, cool to hear that. Do you think a 3d mouse has enough hotkeys for key operations (e.g. transformations, extruding etc.)?
And do find it handy for 'flying/walking' through/around your model?
