Howdy, thanks for such awesome software. Hopefully I have an easy question for you.

When trying to paper trade on Zorro I am oddly getting "Error 074: Balance limit exceeded" (Z8 via IB). Zorro will not execute the paper trade.

Looking at the error number on the troubleshooting page under 074 it says this should not be happening:
"There are no restrictions for trading on demo or paper accounts."

Is this limit message/blocker a bug? If not, what am I doing wrong? It is necessary to paper trade strategies about $7K.

Is it just giving the message and telling you for real trading in that size you would need Zorro S?
Or isn't it doing what you want tit to do?

Error 074 is for real accounts only. Does the account number begin with a "D"?

Hi and thanks for the reply! I signed up this weekend and have a paper-only account so far. I cannot trade with real money. Yes, it does begin with a "D"... so perhaps I have fallen through the cracks of namespace indicating capability. Has something has changed on IB's end?

Is there some other way to obtain a non-real account? If opening paper now requires a real account (e.g. "D"), then instead of parsing number namespace, Zorro could "ping" API indicators indicating user logged in via paper mode?

My IB paper account also begins with "D" and I get no error 074. Maybe you should contact Zorro support. Do you get it only with a certain script or with any script?
