Hi, I am making a model in true space 4.1. I have it textured in true space. What format should I export it to. SO that I can get it into 3d game studio .. with the texture. do i need some type of conversion tool or something to get it in to med.

Everyone tries to make the ultimate game, but only one game can ever go down as the ultimate game of all time, and I am the one who will do this.

BigDog:

There is a .mdl exporter plugin for Truespace that another user wrote. I could never get it to work in so far as exprting the model with the skin texture intact. That being the case I didn't find it very useful.

What I do is export all my animation frames as .3ds and then import into MED. I then lay out the skin mesh useing MED. If you are makeing animated models then you will definitely want to get the 'frame exporter' plugin from www.blackknightproductions.com. I would also recommend thier 'puppeteer' plugin as well for bone animations.

Tell Greg at Black Knight that James sent ya.

There is another 3ds frame exporter called 'animsave' - I think it pretty much does the same thing as the Black Knight one, that is, export every frame to a separate 3ds file. Animsave is free, and fairly easy to find if you do a websearch on "animsave, truespace" or something. Puppeteer is definitely worth getting, though.

You can get animSave (and links to many other plugins, including a Puppeteer demo) at: http://www.lunadude.com/tS/tS-3dplugs.htm (or a more direct link: http://www.classicsw.com/truespac.htm).
