Here's a nice big (1024x1024) grass texture that I made. It tiles surprisingly well, even zoomed way out.

My pleasure! I have some ground textures too, but I want to flush them out so I have a full pack of them. Ground textures are so hard to make! Getting the camera high enough to capture a nice area of the ground is not easy. Plus, finding a consistant ground is although tough.

I'm going to be selling some music gear to upgrade my digital camera. Woo hoo! That's today's chore - to prepare the items for e*bay. I want to buy a Sony Cybershot DSC-F828. I'm currently using a Sony Cybershot DSC-P52, which really is a nice camera, but I want to start making more 1024x1024 textures, and the P52 doesn't quite cut it for that.

Sounds great. I am in the market for a camera sometime this year as well and am waiting to try to buy a good one -I could buy a cheaper model now but not worth it unless I can get really good images.

Here's a way of making wavy grass that moves around in the wind:
Get a grass sprite (I use a 16x1 pixel tga) with the bottom half transparent. Then
ent_create a few hundred of them in sequence (either in random places or at set
distances) with a while loop so it does it automatically and then change the tilt
and pan rotation according to total_ticks or their position, it looks pretty
awesome!
