Hi, this is not a major issue for me as I rarely use 3DGS anyway but the thing is, I just wondered if anyone else has ever experienced any ripple effects when the engine is running. It doesn't occur when the camera is moving around though but just when I stay still and do nothing. This is when I see minor ripples on the screen. It's weird.

I can't because it's something that happens within 1 split second so there isn't enough time to screensnag it . To be purely honest, I checked it again after posting this and it doesn't seem to be doing it anymore . It did it on quite a few occasions in the past. Maybe it's just my eyes playing tricks on me because I've been experiencing visual 'floaters'. I don't know. Sorry to cause any inconvenience. Next time, I'll check before I post a thread (I really did believe it was still doing it though).

Which and what kind of monitor do you have? And what's your graphicscard? I've had unwanted ripple effects with my old monitor, which was broken ...

Cheers

rippled display usualy is a result in your video card and monitor having a time keeping in sync at the same display size, color depth, an refreash rate

check your monitors manual see what the aaverage refreash ( hertz) speed rating it lists for 1024x768 be sure its rated around 60 for that resolution

i have an older monitor only runs at 40 at that resolution and it won't run at all off my old mx 420 gforce card

other possabilities.

something is loose... video cable, video cards loose in the slot
failit fuse in monitor. or something worse in teh monitor is slowign failing

Cheers Grimber . Yea, I think my refresh rate for 1024X768 is around 75 hz. Good advice. Will have a look later on. Thanks again.

or perhaps he has made a room and textured it with these things :

hehe ^^
actually, I think it is either your refresh rate, or a video card / driver problem.

Good one there Lennart

keeps slipping my mind that particular colors and patterns can cause wavering issues with the rastering i just tend to avoid too many patterned textures, so im never reminded of it.

Holy crap Lennart_hillen!! That picture is amazing!!! I thought it was animated LOL!! How the hell does it move like that? Seriously that is freaky.

If that was put to paper, would it still have the same effect? *Toz sneaks off to try it*
