Hi,
I noticed a feature that looked handy in 6.4 that's not in 6.3 and its the vec_for_uv and vec_to_uv commands, so I tried using it to create a metallic chrome look and it worked out alright in this little project. What's happening here is, if you'll notice the highlights only change when the object rotates, its because I shift the uvs on the texture according to its change in rotation to simulate a sort of reflective quality.

and....here's a pic:

this is a very small project, please don't expect any large game with this 1.5 MB download. Press space bar or a mouse button to stop the objects from moving around.

It is not obvious what's specific about vec_to_uv etc. in your example, couldn't you achieve the same effect with shifting uv via material?

yeah, I guess you can shift uv's if you have commercial (or pro) with shaders but I wouldn't know how to change every uv vertex with shaders.... it's probably possible though!
