Guys can you tell me why is a trial version only 30 days ? It is kinda stupid because we (total noobs and starters) can't even get used to it enough in 30 days to decide wether to buy it or not. $200 is not a small investment, we should be aware of what we are buying, and in 30 days, its impossible to determine.

I know you probably can't answer my question, but this is like appeal for a trial version like "forever", no day limits.

Thanks,
Nebo

i bought the standard for trial ^^
no, seriously, 30 days is the most common test period used by almost all firms nowadays. eg: how could someone get used to macromedia FLASH in 30 days, and the investment is much higher than $200. the trial was created to make you buy it...

30 days is very common for trial periods for software programs. There are some odd cases though like Winzip having 21 days and some programs with just 14 days. Some have no day limit but features often don't work or are severely limited, or even buggy. 30 days is sufficient for almost any case. When you do install the trial, use as much of your trial you can. That is, don't go off watching TV or drawing a new picture, rather, mess around with the trial and familiarize yourself with it. The point of a trial is to see if a particular program meets someone's needs. If it does, they'll consider buying it. If not, they'll uninstall the trial and seek after other related programs. Although a trial can be extended indefinitely, it is illegal to do so. I wonder if those 30 days start at the moment you download it or the moment you install it....

After 1 day of the trial, and I didn't know anything, I bought the commercial version...hehe. I was so gung ho on making something. After I got the software, it sat in my room for about 2 years...doing nothing...then I finally got back into it these last past 2 months and I have accomplished alot.

Well There are 2 ways right now....

1.) Buy a legal Version of A6 and sometime within
the Year "I Think" Conitec will offer a Downgrade.

2.) There is Another Source that Sells Strictly A5
but it is not Approved by Contitec (Fully Legal though)....
You would not be able to update Ever

Since I really don't want to totally tick of Contiec
and them Decide not to offer the Downgrade......

All I can Say is Search around carefully the link is
probally right under your nose.

I see no point in buying old software which costs close to the same as the new version which comes with an update.

Get standard, it costs 50 bucks, extra is 100, and commercial is 200 which is ideal in my opinion.

Yes By Eveyone's Standard here on the Forum
A5 is considered out of date and does not have updates
or the support level of A6.

However .....

The Fact of the Matter is:
No Matter How Old it is there are still a lot of
People That Prefer A5 over A6 for Various reasons,
from Software Rendering to the ease of use.

This is why after All those years you are still going
to see People pop up on the Forum Asking about A5.

I really don't want To twist anyone to go this way or
that but I can definately Understand Wanting A5.

The reason they have the 30 day period, is because it is long enough for you to get really into thier software, and then suddenly cut you off from it completely, making you feel like you need it! It's also too short to get bored with it. So when the demo runs out, you buy it, like 99% of us did.

*EDITED*
I later bought the standard edition for $50 from Conitec.
