As the choice of having models as level geometry is a very welcome feature. I would like to ask if somebody knows how to scale a model in a particular axis only in wed. It seems to scale uniformly in all directions. I would like to scale the same model in a particular axis only or scale differently in different axis. Please guide if you know how this can be done.

could be wrong but dont think you can. The obvious solution is to just open the model in med and scale it to the desired size.....

It may be possible however using c-script.... something like my.scale_x = 2; ect... Not sure about that tho.Still it would probally be better to just open med and adjust it there.

First, you are right that it is not possible in wed.

But the solution you have come up with is not what I am looking for. I dont want to use script or have extra resources for the same model. I want to build the level in wed with same resource and do the scale in wed itself, seeing what looks good for that instance.

I think that it should be put up for future upgrades.

I agree it would be nice. I personally think they should just combine wed and med... Let me do all the work in one app instead of switching back and forth... Think this may be planned for when octree is released...tho who knows when well see octree if we ever do.Not to mention I could be completley wrong about this whole idea, could of just been a dream

Sorry cant think of any other solutions.... Prehaps if your building your levels entirley out of models use a 3rd party app... Ive been recently expeirmenting building levels in blender. I have to say im pretty impressed with the results... I just build the entire level in blender then go thru and disconnect certain parts and export them.

Its kind of fun... I build the levels in cubicles(spelling/term) so that i can just reuse the sections... Kinda like building with super cool legos anyways prehaps some one else has a solution as im coming back null at this point.

Thanks for your efforts. And it certainly is not yet implemented in wed. I am asking for this feature because I want to build level in parts and specially useful with rocks.

1) use the same model.
2) save space
3) save time
4) save load time
5) having different skins gives more power.
6) collision detection would be faster if the model involved has less polygons.
etc........

Scaling, rotating in different directions gives the impression that these are different models but saves me a lot of extra work and resources. And again save time because if one is not of proper scale or rotation then redo touches to the model.
