Hello guys,

this game already got posted here once and then have been put on ice now
we are planing to make it good enough to be accepted on one or more of the
big causual game portals (realarcade.com, yahoo, bigfishgames)

So this is what we got so far :
BREAK O MANIA DEMO

As you can see from the screen visually there is alot of space for improvement
for example adding a background, rework the interface graphics etc.

Now the most important is ofcourse the gameplay it have to be addictive fast paced and fun - or it wont simply sell neither be accepted by one of the big portals.

We doing an improvement List and are open to hear any critique or suggestions.

Thank you

Vash

Hi!

First of all "great job!"

What i like:
- it's a game with easy gameplay
- it seams stable
- nice graphics
- the idea of the dynamic light around the ball
- the particle

what i don't like/suggest:
- level "hard" isn't realy hard
- too many pattern (graphic) per level (use 1 theme per level)
- no motivation for longer periods to play (announce extras for further levels in the game)
- before starting the ball didn't follow the pad.
- the price (even though 100 level) i think $/€10 is enough for this.

sincerly, mercurus

I do not like the big light contrast. I suggest making it more cute or more cartoony. And replace the midi sounds with really cool higher quality sounds.

The time of Dr/\g0n5 has begun...

k, i dont want to sound mean, but really dark stencil shadows is a stupid idea, the edges are too hard (and i usually love incredibly dark shadows) its just too much.... but hey its your choice, the only other thing is more of a question than a critique, in thier there is this sound and it sounds like this sound in an old game i used to play called chip's challenge... lol, u didn't happen to "barrow" it did you?

You should implement kind of "rockets" to shoot from the players bar.
The level is too dark, lighten up the level, and decrease the strenght of the shadows (more transparency).

the Balls are too hard to see, there should be more contrast to the backround. (making the balls colored)

Some more different stones. Like Stones, that drop items, that you need to catch, or stones, that
you have to hit twice in 10 seconds, or else they will not get removed.

Maybe controlling 2 bars, one in the lower part, and one in the higher part.

Currently it is just a simple akanoid clone, you need to introducr something special, to
make it stand out of other akanoid clones.

You pricing should be much lower.... 20$ for an akanoid clone?
got with the 10$ range....

Hey! Looks good.

Those high contrast shadows could be toned down with a dynamic light from above maybe, or is it possible to make them more transparent?

Though I must say that the solid black background really creates a stark contrast, making things a little hard on the eyes, so it would probably be good to decide where this is taking place, what universe it lives in, and to subtly suggest that with the background.

Good luck with the casual game market, it's a big one and makes for manageable indy game projects. I don't know about casual game pricing.. I picture them being 5-10 dollars. I guess the best thing would look athe the average prices posted on the casual gaming portals.

best wishes,
