I totally understand your reaction and I think TheMatrix here didn't realise the people who know the engine best are the people to ask this question too. A lot of people on the net make claims without having used 3d gamestudio or are often referring to old versions and the like.
I would say 3D gamestudio is perfectly fine for what I need it for. All kinds of gamegenres can be made with 3D gamestudio and it's a very complete package you'll get. I would say try out the demo of 3d gamestudio and see for yourself. The c-script language is relatively easy to grasp, and there's a whole bunch of nice template scripts for those who can not program at all.

Whatever you do, don't stick with the blender game engine! I started making games with that and I had to abandon every one of them because the engine is so slow! It's an amazing modeler and it's great for animations, but trying to make a good game with the game engine is a waste of time!

Alright sueds, sorry for formulating it that way, I didn't mean it as an offense. Basically, I figure I might have been a little upset posting my comment because there is apparently a logical mistake in your question! Sure, people who have worked with the engine will know its capabilities and are thus the ones you would ask rather than just google around. But: If you ask a question like "Is 3DGS the best engine?" you require the people whom you ask to have made experiences not only with 3DGS but with almost any other engine on the market! Otherwise, how would they be able to compare 3DGS to them? So, please don't take it as an offense - I'm saying this peacefully - if I take it you more or less expect others to do research on many many engines and compare them to 3DGS. You're absolutely right asking in this forum about 3DGS's capabilities. But the research on other engines, that one you could've done yourself. Or you could at least have asked a little more specificly (e.g. "How good is 3DGS when it comes to <insert features here> ?") so that people know you have already made some effort on gaining knowledge on the subject. See what I mean? I'm not considering myself particularly intelligent at all, I simply overreacted a little. Sorry - let's have peace, shall we

I bought it Two month ago but someone tells me what blender was better and free. I was using blender for modeling but I don't know anything about game engine ...
I dont think the Blender engine is that great from the demos Ive seen. I dont think it comes even remotely close to the frame rate we can acheive with acknex.

For me, especially the structs are interresting.
yeas, structs, more data types and control structures. Its better.

The renderer itself is not exactly state-of-the-art, but much effort has been put into extending it through plugins, and is under constant development by Conitec, who make regular improvements and updates--it is now capable of advanced rendering effects and high performance
after edition 6.50 (right now)on a basic level I get over 800 frames per second. Thats tremendous.
