Hi!

Here are some early screenshots of the game comming to public beta soon.
It's a funny word building game with a couple of extras to make it even more fun...
As you see in the language-selection-screen it's made for english and german language.

The letters are small wooden boxes (phents) you have to drag 'n drop to the table building words with as many points as possible.

The game currently knows ~170.000 german words and ~125.000 english words.

What's your first impressions about graphics and idea of the game?

thanx, mercuryus

The concept looks quite nice mercuryus, quite original
The graphics are good but not spectacular which isn't the main goal of this game if you ask me, it's looks like a pure FUN game. Maybe add more lighting Keep up the nice work !!

Cheers

Yeah, that's what I just thought of, Phemox ... the physics test...
that's why you did it, mercuryus

Great work. Looks like a very fun game.

How did you put all those words in???
You didn't type them all out, did you?

Id' be great if you'd write a program that reads the words from some sort of computer dictionary and puts them all into one file that the game could read them from. No idea how you'd do that though. But it would spare you a lot of typing

Good work! really looking forward to the demo.
As for graphics: all i'd change there is the mouse pointer. the shape and idea is very good, just maybe make it's edges a bit nicer?
Well done

Micha

interesting game. What do I get for my points? What I don´t like about the gameplay is, that it´s impossible to know all words, doesn´t matter how smart I am.

Thanx for your reply - here some answers to your questions:

Yeah - the physics test was the initial test for the game - the idea was already born and the falling cubes looked nice so i posted it

The words are one by-product of an other project (non 3dgs) - an AI-knowledgebase with the internet as backbone(resources). (You can ask the program things and you'll get answers and nexuses to other topics, ...) - so NO I didn't typed one word .

Mouse pointer: one failing (of many ). The game can be played from 800x600 to 1400x1050 and the mouse pointer is just stretched with photoshop - I'll make a better rework...

Points and gameplay: The main idea is to get 2000 Points as fast as possible and get a (time-dependent) place in the online-highscore - not more.
Maybe you have ideas for other game objectives? - please help...

Thanx, mercuryus

How about you make a time-attack mode in which time is counting down ánd words are dissappearing? (could do this with a nice flame effect or some other magic effect for example)

Once you can't make any words anymore, it's game over.

Another suggestion, add a 'puzzle' mode in which you've got a load of letters to choose from, bút you may only use each letter once, after you've used it it will dissappear and in addition to that, the goal is to get rid of áll letters in the end. Give a score based on the amount of useless letters left mixed with the time it took, off course this could be a challenge programming, but you seem to be up to it ...

Cheers

Hi PHeMoX,

the first idea i don't undestand - but it inspired me for an other idea: time-attack mode where you have to build one (ore more) given words. If you succeed you get EXTRA-points.

The puzzle mode is a good idea!
One time with disappearing letters after usage (but you are able to buy new letters for pt.20) If all letters are gone you win EXTRA-points.
One time (time-attack mode) you have to build as many words as you are able with the current (fix) number of letters. Each word counts double or three times...

Maybe there are further ideas? I could make the cups (goblets) winning only for bonus tasks...

thanx, mercuryus

I think you know what I would do to reward the player (includes me).

... but of the educational manner of the game also children should be allowed to play the game...
