I'm making a small, top view down, scrolling space shooter for someone and I am trying to restrict the player's movement so that the screen steadily scrolls upwards while the player can move around in all directions. I have been using am invisible entity as a barrier that keeps the player from moving off of the screen, its not working well, anyone have a better method?

Basically, I don't want the player ship to be able to move outside of the scrolling view. Any ideas?

If i understood your question you have a top down defined view and you want to limit the ship movement to the view limits?
I think if you know the view boundaries you can make that limitation using rel_for_screen.
