Absolutly brilliant as usual ello, really good gameplay and functions well on my 1600mhz, 750 ram, ATI 200, XP Home machine. This is the sort of game to keep one captivated and battling for at least a good hour before realising one needs a break!
Tyrian used to hold me spellbound for many hours if the missus didnt want to play it too.
Performance is as expected for this type of game so I guess deciding about environmental assetts and enemy types could really slow this down production wise, I mean, you can go anywhere within the gendre and it will still be cool.
Edit: No shader capable card so I guess it may be a little testy for machines running shader capable hardware.

I think it is not a manner of raising difficulty. I think that interesting environments with obstacles, boss enemies and a little story or shopping for weapons will make such type of games very interesting.
