I have tried to use the multi-texturing shader from the wiki, with the 4 skins specified.

For 1, I tried different things; cloud of red and green, 1 solid colour that is a mix of red and green (solid yellow), red and also green, but I always end up with the same result, which is texture 4 tiled. I tried all the above for texture 2 as well, and ended up with no results. Can anyone help, or at least send a sample terrain so I can see how its done?
