i have Max 8 and i can't export it to mdl the plugin goes to max 6 only >.< and not higher
And when i export to 3DS i lose the whole skin >.<
but ill try it with a wall first to understand it better how it works

I've (unfortunatly) never used MAX, but can you find a .x exporter? That should work well....

i dont know if its me but im now trying to use your script xXxGuitar511
and made a wall (simple block) in MED and tryed to attach the free scifi block texture but when i run it i don't see a texture at all >.< :S
can you maybe explain a bit how to attach the 2 skin's ?

Assuming that you already have your diffuse (regular) skin attached...


When your in MED, under the edit tab, goto "Manage Skins".

side note - damn, I just had a spider crawling on my back (little one). dead now

Then goto add new texture, and add the normal mapped texture. It will use the same UV set as the first, so you won't have to modify it or anything


Thats it for the model! But there are still many parameters that can be set by right clicking the "NM.wdl" file under your "resources" tab. These are pretty straight forward...

Try adjusting some things in your level (make sure lighting is present). You can add a dynamic light through code (my.lightrange = x, my.red/green/blue = x;). Setting a sun_color should work as well...

Hehe dont have allready the skin on >.<
when i do manage skin's i can make skin but i don't know how to attach it :S
I can't attach it on my model i need to do something first i can see the texture on the left with grid on it and on the right my model.

Skin manager -> Add SKin
...close Skin Manager
...make sure you are in faces mode, not vertex
[menu]Edit -> select all
[menu]edit -> Skin manager
...select first skin
...click "Set Skin"
Close Skin manager and unselect all faces.

Then do the above for adding the second skin
