like i said earlier, i know it can work, because i can hand draw in 3d with the red and blue outlines, and with the glasses it is amazing. i remember the old jim power in 3d game for the old nintendo system, it was bitmaps drawn with the red/blue effect, it was awesome with 3-d glasses. its an easy simulated effect. and its really only the models we would use for the game that would have the effect. the backgrounds look awesome with vibrant colors like reds and orange, etc. they seem to "pop", with the 3d glasses on. i know its possible, and easy to do. if someone wants to play around with the idea, i am willing to work with you.

If only I had more time on my hands, I'd definitely would like to look into this,

I had some pretty cool results 'by accident' with one of my post-processing shaders. It didn't quite do the 3D thing, but it came somewhat close to what it should be. Basically I need to implement a depth read-out and a different color scheme and it should work,

Cheers

I'd mess with the idea, but as I said, I don't have 3D glasses...

i can tell you how to make them, or i will research a website that sells them cheap. i was a poor kid growing up, so if i really wanted something, i made it.

My Famous Quotes: "Hip hop is like a virus, infecting everyone and everything around it. Every form of media has some way, shape or form, assimilated hip hop into it." It has also mutated into other strains like, trip hop, house, rap, gangster, and conscious forms. Once you are infected with it, its with you for life."

There should be very cheap ones available, like 1$ or perhaps 3$ ones ... getting them is a whole different story, however yeah, your best bet will be websites I think.

Cheers

Eh, why not. I guess I'll take a look and see if I can find any online. I'm just not going to go drive around to buy 'em... lol.

i imagine it would look best if you didn't have other colours interfering -- instead going for a greyscale effect (or magenta-scale if you're mixing red and blue).

the most basic would be to render two side-by-side views to textures, and then compose a new image (which gets rendered to the screen or a quad in front of the main camera) using the blue component of one and the red component of the other.

if you could pass the model 3 times, one with the right color, one redish, one bluish and make the vertex shader offset the vertices in a certain way dependent on the distance

I'd love to see this shader in action one day

Imagine if ID soft would have made use of this technique in doom3. whoa.

Sadly, I'm no coder
